Afghan Children's Songbook Project

Dr. Louise Pascale has been spending her day at Boone County High School, sharing the story of her commitment to bring back traditional children's songs to Afghanistan. Through war and oppression, music and singing had been nearly eradicated in Afghanistan. Dr. Pascale created a book of traditional songs while in Afghanistan as a Peace Corp volunteer in 1966. She now uses that book to champion a movement to revive this element of the Afghan culture. Dr. Pascale shared the stage with artwork created by BCHS students that were inspired by her work.
