Maker Expo maker expo

The World Maker & Inventor Expo is a celebration of making, inventing, problem solving and innovation with robotics, 3D printing, drones, aerospace, coding, micro-computing, CSI, Arduino, graphic design, engineering and much more. The family-friendly expo will feature projects and programs from over 100 schools, universities, companies, and organizations in the greater Cincinnati-northern Kentucky regions. Enjoy workshops and competitions, including drone relays, 3D design, outlaw derby races, as well as delicious pies, fries, kabobs, sandwiches, waffles and shaved ice from area food trucks!

Drug Free Clubs drug free concert

The Drug Free Clubs Of America hosted concerts for students at Cooper High School and Boone County High School. The Shane Runion Band performed at each school and Shane talked about his time as a teacher and why it's important for the student to choose to be drug free.

Email Migration email

As part of a state-wide email project, Boone County Schools will migrate to new Office365 mailboxes. Staff and student email addresses will not change. The migration will begin after school on Thursday, April 26 and is planned for completion sometime on Monday, April 30. Emails sent to staff and students during the migration period will not be immediately received. Staff and students will not have access to email during the migration period.

Prom 2018 Information Prom 2018

Cooper High School presents Prom 2018 on Saturday, April 21 from 7pm until 11pm at Paul Brown Stadium.  Tickets are $60.  Students may purchase tickets as follows:  March 12-16 Cooper Junior and Seniors only, March 19 Cooper Seniors with underclass dates or dates from another school, March 20 Cooper Juniors with underclass dates or dates from another school.  Any available tickets after March 20 will be $70 and only available in Room 202 during 4th period only or after school.  Tickets are on sale during all lunch periods.  Students must complete behavior contracts to attend.

International Festival - Date Change International Fest

The Boone County Schools International Festival has been postponed and is now coming up on May 5th.  It is being held at Mann Elementary from 11:00am until 3:00pm.  Addmission is free and there will be plenty of activities for the entire family!

School Resource Officers For Elementary Schools SRO's

Boone County Schools and the Boone County Sheriff's Office are pleased to announce that Boone County Sheriff's Deputies will be manning the elementary schools in the upcoming school year.

Boone County Schools Superintendent Dr. Randy Poe, Walton Verona Independent School District Superintendent Robert Storer, Judge-Executive Gary Moore, Commissioners Cathy Flaig, Charles Kenner, Charlie Walton & Sheriff Michael A. Helmig worked harmoniously to develop a plan to equip every Boone County public elementary school with a school resource officer for the 2018-2019 school year.

District Summer Credit Information 2018

District Summer Credit offerings are through a blended learning model of in-person and virtual curriculum offerings.

Your student’s home high school may also offer summer credit courses.  Those registrations are handled directly by the home high school, and not through this registration link.  The District Summer Credit Program is offered as an additional option for students and families.

All of the curriculum can be completed entirely through a virtual platform.  There will be no requirement for students to meet with their assigned teacher.  Teachers will have office hours and locations available for student assistance as needed.

District Summer Credit programs will be offered in one session:  June 11-July 6, 2018

Initial meeting date for the session will be May 30 at 6:00PM at Boone County HS

Boone County Schools now has its own app! Just search "Boone County Schools" in the App Store or the Google Play Store. After downloading, you can go into the user settings and customize which schools you wish to follow on the app.

In light of the Florida and Marshall County, Kentucky school tragedies, Superintendent Dr. Randy Poe working in collaboration with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department is adding additional School Resource Officers (SRO’s) to the district’s elementary schools.

Boone County Schools is one of many school districts across the country that is being subjected to copy- cat threats of the school tragedy in Florida.  We are working with local authorities as they investigate a recent rash of rumors and threats on our campuses.  Student suspects in each of the cases were immediately identified and apprehended.  They were charged by local authorities and disciplined by their schools.   In each case a thorough investigation was conducted by the school district and authorities.  No student or staff member was ever in danger. Confidentiality laws prevent Boone County Schools from talking about the persons involved or the specifics of the incidents. Boone County Schools will continue to remain on alert, following our safety protocols and working with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department and Florence Police as future issues arise.

Scheduling Information Scheduling

It's that time again already, to select courses for the 2018-2019 school year.  You should be contacted by your students JAM teacher so that you may select a parent meeting time.  Parent meetings are occuring on Wednesday, February 14; 3pm until 6:30pm and on Thursday, February 15 from 4pm until 7:30pm.  Class meetings for students occur on Friday, January 26.  Students may select their elective courses and alternative courses on Infinite Campus between Monday, January 29- Thursday, February 1.  Remeber to select 6 credit hours and 6 credits of alternatives.   Below is information provided to students during JAM class:

Men's Basketball

The Cooper boys’ varsity basketball team’s BIG GAME against Covington Catholic
will be at 8:30 p.m. Friday, January 12 at BB&T Arena on the campus of Northern
Kentucky University.
Advance tickets being sold here at school in the main office beginning Tuesday Jan. 9th are $5 for students and $8 for adults. All tickets
at the door will be $10, so be sure to take advantage of the advance tickets that are available
in the main office during school hours.

Graduation Presentation Information Grad presentation

Any RCHS student who is planning to graduate this year must complete a graduation presentation as part of the graduation requirments.  Presentation information can be found by clicking here.  Presentations will take place April 2 - 6, 2018.  Students must submit needed material by deadlines listed in the graduation presentation packet above.  Examples of a resume can be found here: click here for example 1; click here for example 2.  Extra credit can be received by completing the interview component as described click here.
