March 28th will be Spring Picture Day!


Friday is the beginning of your 4th quarter UA, and we will be going to our GOLD day UA class.


CEMS Drama Club presents The Lion King . We hope you can join us on the Savanna. The play is  March 16th at 7:30, March 17th at 3:00 and 7:30, all tickets are $5 and the show will take place in the Cooper High School Auditorium.


On Tuesday March 13th, the Camp Ernst MS 8th grade Band traveled to North Oldham HS in Goshen , KY to perform at the Kentucky Music Educators Association State Band Performance Assessment.  The Band was rewarded all Distinguished ratings, which is the highest rating given for their performance.


All paperwork is due for the 8th grade trip to Washington DC by Monday, March 19th. Please see Mr. Buckler with any questions.


We have flyers in the office for girls interested in Boone County High School Soccer.


Classic Gamers' Club will not meet this Friday.


Change to new and improved light bulbs. Reduce energy use from about a third to as much as 80% with today’s increasing number of energy-efficient halogen incandescents, CFL’s and LED’s. In result we could get new light bulbs over time.


Are you an 8th grader going to Cooper High School next year? Are you interested in what the Cooper Speech Team is all about? Want to hear creative, live performances from state finalists? Come out to the Cooper speech team’s coffeehouse on Friday, March 23rd  from 6-8pm. Admission is free and open to students, parents, family, and friends. AUDITIONS will be the following Tuesday, March 27.  See Ms. Blood in room 815 with questions.


Trying out for cheerleading in the spring? CEMS Cheer will be hosting stunt clinics open to any CEMS student or incoming 6th graders who would like to get some stunting experience in before middle school or high school tryouts!

When: Thursdays 6-7:30pm on the following dates;

March 8th, 15th 22nd, 29th, April 5th, 19th & 26th

Cost: $5 per clinic or $30 for all 7 clinics!

*Must fill out a waiver prior to participation! Flyers available in the front office!


Anyone interested in playing volleyball at Cooper next season is invited to start weight training this week.  We will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5:30 up until Spring Break. IF you have any questions please contact Coach Michelle Isaac at Cooper High School.


College/ Career Week

Monday March 19th- “Hats off to College and Career Week” (students are encouraged to wear hats and staff is encouraged to wear graduation caps/gowns or a hat)

Tuesday March 20th- “We’re happy to be college and career ready” (wear International Day of Happiness shirts)

Wednesday March 21st- “We want to be Wednesday” (students dress like what they want to be when they grow up and staff is encouraged to dress like something they wanted to be when they were young)

Thursday March 22nd- “Dreaming of the future” (pajama day)

Friday March 23rd- “Favorite College Friday” (favorite college spirit wear)


Mrs.Vickers mentoring class, as part of the passion project, is holding an event to raise money for Lucky Tales and Paw Prints Rescue. This event will be on March 19th 6:30 to 8. This event will be here at CEMS in the multi purpose room. The cost is $3.oo to get in.  There will be food and drinks as well as games, pictures with the animals, silent auction baskets, and so much more!  


Stand Up for a Pup Club

2:30-3:30 Mondays

The club will be about teaching people how to handle/treat animals and how to raise money to make animals lives better.

Club Meeting Location

Ms. Vickers’ room 706 (see Ms. Vickers for sign up)

Club Participation

Any 6th, 7th or 8th grader.  Club will begin February 12, 2018 through May 14, 2018.

Meetings are Mondays 2:30-3:30 in room 706.

Parents: Please be mindful that if you are dropping your student off late we must have either an adult signature or a doctor note for you student to be excused. Also, we need doctor notes or parent notes turned into the office when your child is absent. You are allowed ten (10) parent notes per school year and after that they must be doctor notes to be excused. After three unexcused tardies lunch detentions will be assigned.
