Fire and EMT Program

The Boone County School District will be offering a Fire and EMT program next year.  This is a half day program and the courses will be taught at Gateway’s Boone Campus.  Upon completion of this two year program, you can graduate as a certified Emergency Medical Technician. This program will be taught in the afternoons from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and transportation will be provided to Gateway.

The program will also have a morning session if the demand for the program is high enough.   The classes for the FIRE/EMT program must be taken in sequence. These classes do not have an ACT or GPA requirement, but it is recommended that the student have at least an 18 composite on the ACT and an 80% average in all their previous coursework.

This program will be for next year’s Juniors if they want to complete the entire program.  Seniors can take the program for one year, but would not be certified.  For more information, please see Ms. Hirn this week.
