Virtual District Art Show art work

Every year all of our schools come together for a district-wide art show.  The Boone County Library plays host to the art show each year, but COVID has changed that for the time being.  This year we are presenting the District Art show in a virtual format.  Click on each link to see the amazing works of art from each of our schools!

All-Day Kindergarten crayons

Kindergarten Parents and Guardians,

Great News! All-Day Kindergarten (All-Day K) comes to Boone County Schools!

Boone County Schools will begin providing (All-Day K) starting the 2021-2022 school year!

What are the benefits of All-Day Kindergarten for your child?

  • All-Day K allows teachers to identify learning disabilities early and provide intervention
  • All-Day K provides social structure, teaches self-control and awareness
  •  All-Day K results in richer opportunities for learning, socialization and engagement
  • All-Day K results in higher student achievement and lasting social, emotional benefits for the middle and high school years
  • All-Day K gives your child a strong base for lifelong academic success
  • Research shows that 5-year-olds are more than ready for All-Day K

If your child is currently fully registered for kindergarten in the fall you do not need to do anything else.  If not and your child is of Kindergarten age (a child who is already 5 years old or turns 5 by August 1st) they are eligible for enrollment.  You may contact the school your child is districted to attend to register your child.

Sincerely,

Matthew L. Turner

Superintendent of Schools

Re-entry Plan For Boone County Schools (Updated 2/12) student at desk

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented our community with many complex challenges, including how we will safely educate our 21,000 students. The priority of safely and effectively educating our students must be balanced with the safety of our 3,600 employees and also the financial impact of the pandemic on jobs and our families.

While we cannot eliminate risks altogether, we believe that by following the state and federal guidance listed above we can together significantly reduce the risk of potentially spreading COVID-19 on our campuses. Doing so, however, will require a shared commitment by each of us to take care of ourselves, our families, and everyone in our schools.
