UNION - Time flies when you’re a high school basketball star.
Just two years ago, Maddie Scherr and Lauren Schwartz were the youngest players in a senior-loaded Ryle rotation as they won 24 games and finished as Ninth Region runner-up.
Now they’re the two most experienced veterans leading the way for the Raiders, who have their sights set on the program’s elusive first-ever Ninth Region championship.
Both players are getting offers from Division I schools. Scherr is highly ranked in the class of 2020 by national recruiting services, including fourth by ESPN. Among her offers include Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Xavier.
