SBDM Parent Elections


What is the school council?  The SBDM council is the governing body for the school. Each year Camp Ernst Middle School will sit down to look over its school budget, curriculum, extra- curricular programs, school improvement plans, instructional practices and other matters pertinent of the school.  Newly elected council members will receive 6 hours of training.  The council meets once a month at the school.

Who serves on the council?  Two parents, three teachers and the principal

Who may run for the council?  Any parent, step-parent or legal guardian of a student who will be attending the school during the school year.  A parent is ineligible if he/she is and employee, or a relative of an employee of that school or the district central office, or a local school board member of the spouse of a school board member.

What are the terms of office?  Starting date for the term is July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018.  The term of office is 1 year.

What do I do if I want to run for the council?  Complete a SBDM Parent Council Member Nomination Form, write a short biography and place them in an envelope addressed to the PTSO/SBDM Nomination Committee and turn into the CEMS office.  Click here for the nomination form.  

Who may vote in the election?  Parents, step-parents, foster parents, legal guardians of students who either have or will have student attending school at Camp Ernst Middle School during the 2017/2018 school year.

When do we vote?  Voting date TBD
