Longbranch Elementary held a benefit to raise money to aid the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. The second grade students included the benefit as part of their Project Based Learning assignment on Spanish culture with a focus on Puerto Rico. The students set up a market to sell crafts as a way to raise money to go along with the donations collected. There was a pitch-in dinner and the students performed songs and dances that they learned while studying the Puerto Rican culture. All of the money raised is going to be donated to a Puerto Rican school in need.
