I am excited and eager about starting my tenth year of teaching at Ockerman Elementary and my fifth as a 4th grade teacher. In the past I have also been a Para-educator in 5th grade at 4th Street Elementary in Newport.
I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree from Northern Kentucky University in 2005. I completed my Master’s degree during the summer of 2008 at NKU in Instructional Leadership. I feel as an educator you need to be a life long learner, and I will continue to further my education.
I feel that all children can learn and as a teacher it is my goal to help the child meet their potential as a learner. I love meeting and getting the opportunity to teach new students every year, and getting to learn and know about them. I am also excited about getting the chance to reunite with some of my students from last year’s class.
I try and be as accessible to parents as possible in the busy hectic lives we live. I feel when parents and teachers work together, the child can only benefit from it. I always get back to you as soon as possible on any issues or conflicts.
I live in Alexandria, Kentucky and take care of my mom and our pet cats Sambo, and Socks. I have two sisters who live in Alexandria also. I have 3 nieces and 5 nephews.
This year will be my eighth year as the Head Wrestling Coach at Boone County High School after being the assistant coach during the 2007-2008 season. I also play rugby for Queen City Rugby Club, a division 3 rugby club. I am a huge sports fan and especially a big fan of the Michigan Wolverines.
Thank you for taking time out to learn about me. I will enjoy working with you and your child this school year.
